Top 10 Highest Average Salaries Around London’s Tube Stations

Waterloo – London’s busiest tube station for the 2019/2020 financial year, takes first place. The job sectors around Waterloo station include Administrative and business operations (e.g. Operations administrator), Retail & customer support (e.g. Store assistant) and Technology (e.g. Software developer) – which all contribute to the average annual salary of £32,247

In second is Mansion House station, which is served by the Circle and District lines. The highest average salary around the tube station, which was opened in 1871, is £32,092 annually. The two highest paid job sectors are Construction & extraction (e.g. Carpenters) and Personal service (e.g. Make-up artist).

Closely following in third place is London’s oldest railway station opened in 1836London Bridge station. The highest average salary per year found near the station is £32,076, which is only about £20 less than its successor, Mansion House. Some of the highest paid job sectors in this area include Education & instruction (e.g. Teacher), Legal (e.g. Lawyer) and Supply chain & logistics (e.g. Distribution manager).

The London Tube Stations Home to the Lowest Salaries

The lowest average annual salary of £18,598 is around Hainault tube station, situated in east London. The Construction & extractions job sector was found to provide the highest average salary (£40,000) in the perimeter of the station. This is compared to Construction & extractions around Edgware station, which earns £12,000 less (£28,000).

Second to last is Fairlop station, which is on the Central line. The average salary around this London tube station, which opened in 1903, is £18,929 per annum and the job sector offering the highest average salary is Construction & extractions – the same as Hainault.
