The Pavers Foundation charitable organisation of the family-owned-and-run footwear retailer Pavers, has donated £500 to Peony Breast Care Clinic, a care unit at the Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. The Foundation made the donation on behalf of Juliet Dunn, a colleague based at Pavers Carmarthen who applied for the grant through the employee-led, charitable giving scheme.
As a local breast cancer charity servicing the Southwest Wales area, the Peony Breast Care Unit supports local women through diagnosis and treatment while also contributing to ongoing breast cancer research.
On receiving the donation Dr Yousef thanked the Pavers Foundation and said; “The donation will be used to help women get safely though their surgeries with the use specialised equipment and medications.”
It was over several years Juliet had helped her mother-in-law, Yvonne, through a double mastectomy that the family experienced the exceptional care provided at Peony Breast Care Clinic. Juliet said of the unit; “Nothing was ever too much trouble; everyone was so caring and understanding. They put 110% into helping and caring for all their patients.”
The Pavers Foundation is delighted to support causes up and down the UK and beyond, the vast majority of which are nominated by colleagues of the business, with other donations being made on behalf of the Paver family. The Foundation proudly makes a difference to local communities and more recently has taken steps to explore environmentally positive initiatives. To date, the Pavers Foundation has awarded over £2.2 million in donations.
