Disability Football Festival Celebrates Inclusive Sport in Ystrad Mynach

Around 140 pupils from eight South Wales schools with specialist class provision for pupils with additional learning needs took part in the Disability Football Festival at the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach on Wednsday 25th  June.

Hosted by Sport Caerphilly, the event was organised for schools with specialist ALN departments. This created a fully inclusive and supportive experience, bringing together children of all abilities for a shared day of sport and fun. The festival featured football skills and drills in the morning, followed by friendly games in the afternoon. Volunteers from local schools supported the delivery of activities helping to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout the day. The event demonstrated how sport can unite young people foster participation build confidence and promote enjoyment for every child regardless of ability.
