Cerith said: “My wonderful friends, family and colleagues will be starting the challenge in Yr Wyddfa, making their way to the second peak, Cadair Idris, and then will finish the challenge in Pen Y Fan.

“I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in December 2024. I was operated on within a week of diagnosis and was cared for by an amazing team of doctors, surgeons and nurses in Ward 7 at Prince Phillip Hospital.

“In January, I was told by my oncologist that the cancer had spread and was incurable but was treatable and manageable. I have since been receiving chemotherapy at Prince Phillip Hospital which is working well. I am so grateful for everything they have done for me, and I wanted the opportunity to raise money for them as my way of saying thank you.

“We are hoping to raise at least £800 and so far, we have raised £775 in under 24 hours.”

Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We’d like to say a huge good luck to Cerith’s friends, family and colleagues with their Welsh Three Peaks Challenge and a massive thank you to Cerith for inspiring such a great fundraiser.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
