Beicio Cymru is proud to celebrate the selection of three rising Welsh talents to represent Team GB at the 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, North Macedonia, this July.
Held every two years, the European Youth Olympic Festival is a major multi-sport event for young athletes aged 14–18. It provides many with their first taste of international competition in an Olympic-style setting, and has launched the careers of athletes such as Tom Pidcock, Zoe Bäckstedt, and Cat Ferguson. The 2025 edition will take place from 20–26th July, with around 4,000 young athletes from 49 countries competing across 10 sports, including road and mountain bike cycling.
Fin Storrie, Daniel Davies and William Coles will join the eight-strong British Cycling team for the event, where they’ll have the chance to represent Great Britain on the European stage – gaining invaluable experience as part of their development pathway.
Wales Well Represented on the Road
All three Welsh riders have been selected for the road cycling team, and will compete in the 10km time trial on 22nd July, followed by the 60km road race on 24th July.
Finlay Storrie (Bridgend)
A standout rider throughout 2025, Fin has racked up an astonishing 20 race wins this season alone, including 8 victories at British series level and 4 in Belgium. His dominance began with a commanding performance at the London 2-Day, where he claimed back-to-back stage wins and the overall title. On the track, he’s also clinched two Welsh national titles in the individual pursuit and points races.
Daniel Davies (Penarth)
Dan has matched Fin stride for stride across the season, placing second on the Stage 1 Time Trial and 4th overall at the Youth Tour of Scotland and 2nd overall at the Isle of Man Youth Tour, and coming in just behind Fin at the Scarborough Cycling Festival. A smart tactician and powerful rider, he took victory in the latest British series round at Hog Hill with a decisive solo break. He also claimed silver at the British Circuit Race Championships and won the Welsh Scratch Race title on the track, showcasing his versatility.
William Coles (Llandovery)
Will’s season has been equally impressive, with early track wins including Icebreaker Round 1 and a podium at the Derby Omnium. International success soon followed with two road wins in Belgium (Meulbeke with a 26km solo, and Mol-Rauw), plus podiums at Bierbeek and Stekene. His crowning achievement came with a superb ride to take the British Youth Circuit Race Championship title, solidifying his place as one of the UK’s brightest young prospects.
Celebrating Welsh Talent on the European Stage
The selection of Fin, Dan and Will is a huge testament to the strength of the Beicio Cymru Youth Academy – and to the clubs, coaches, families and volunteers behind the scenes who make it all possible.
