Pleased to share the news that Unplugged, the UK’s original digital detox escape, has opened three new cabins in South Wales – Bear, Seren and Jessi – its first locations within easy reach of both Cardiff and Swansea, expanding its Welsh presence.
The launch expands its growing Welsh collection, which already includes cabins in Mid and North Wales, bringing its off-grid, phone-free escapes to even more people across the region.
Each cabin offers a different way to experience the beautiful Welsh countryside:
- Bear and Seren share a spectacular setting on the edge of a valley overlooking miles of woodland, with private hot tubs, direct access to Brechfa Forest’s 14,000 acres of trails and a village pub within walking distance.
- Seren, named after the Welsh word for “star”, is perfectly positioned for stargazing and soaking up the surrounding views, while Bear offers a secluded retreat that can also be paired with Seren for larger groups.
- Further north, Jessi sits on a former railway line in the Tylwch Valley, surrounded by woodland and open meadow, with the sound of a nearby river audible from the doorstep. Complete with a private hot tub, wild swimming spots and easy access to the dramatic landscapes of the Elan Valley, Jessi is one of Unplugged’s most remote cabins, offering guests the chance to feel truly disconnected from the outside world.
Since launching in 2020, Unplugged has grown to more than 50 cabins across the UK, offering three-night digital detox stays designed to help busy people switch off from technology and reconnect with nature.
Like at all Unplugged cabins, on arrival at Bear, Seren and Jessi, guests lock away their phones for 72 hours (with an emergency Nokia provided) – the scientifically proven time required to experience the benefits of a digital detox, including better sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, improved focus and mood, and better connection (with themselves, and with devices).
