Boeing doesn’t just make aeroplanes, as well as developing weapons systems they’ve also begun developing force field technology.
It isn’t quite like you’ve seen in sci-fi. The idea is that if a bomb explodes near a vehicle, the Boeing system detects the explosion and sends out a series of laser pulses that increase the ions around the vehicle changing the density, temperature and composition of the surrounding air. This in turn cancels out the shockwave of the explosions, minimising the damage to the vehicle.
