What Rubbish you hear about the possibility of an EU exit and what damage it will do!

One remark you keep hearing is we need certain skill sets well fine, So Entry for Work purposes must be by work permit visa only. The same as we have to do if wishing to work overseas! Issued for designated periods of time only so retain and enhance the point based system for work permits to ensure that British workers are offered the first opportunities to work, and that employers are encouraged to provide training  for British workers rather than import skills from overseas.

Work permits should be issued by the Government only where there are proven skill shortages in specific areas of the economy. Extensions to work periods could be applied for on their expiry-provided that a genuine ongoing skill shortage can still be demonstrated. Those granted work permits would be required to sign an undertaking of residence i.e. a code of behaviour when in the UK. Work permits should only be granted to those applicants who have employment waiting for them, who can financially support themselves, and meet the qualifying criteria set by the Government and have a letter of support from their corporation covering their contractual obligations i.e. the length of the project, again the same as we have to do when working overseas.
