Yesterday (Thursday, 11th August, 2016), 19 year old Daniel Mark Kelley was charged at Belgravia Police Station in London with a number of offences linked to crimes committed online following an investigation by the TARIAN Regional Cyber Crime Unit. The 19 year-old man from Llanelli, in Dyfed Powys, has been bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on 12 September, 2016.
List of charges:
Denial of Service (DDoS) under section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act:
Accused of Denial of Service attack which adversely affected the day to day business of the Coleg Sir Gar, including submissions of coursework and the administration of examinations at Coleg Sir Gar in Llanelli.
Two counts of blackmail, under section 21 of the Theft Act 1968:
Accused of blackmailing an Australian company’s employee on four occasions after exploiting vulnerabilities of the company’s website to obtain confidential customer information.
Accused of blackmailing a Canadian employee with emails and phones calls to his home after hacking into private data.
Money Laundering under Section 327-329 of the Proceeds of Crime Act
He has been bailed ahead of the court appearance.
