Llanelli AM visits Action for Children’s key Carmarthenshire services

Lee Waters, AM for Llanelli in the Welsh Assembly has visited Action for Children’s Carmarthenshire Targeted Family Support Team.   The AM met managers and key team members who work all the county supporting children and parents through a variety of issues and challenges.

Sue Marsden, practice manager for the Carmarthenshire Targeted Family Support Team, said: ‘I’m delighted Lee Waters has taken the time to visit our services in Llanelli and show such an interest in the important work we are doing here.  Our services are suited to the local community they serve providing the best place to help families flourish.  We were keen to show Lee that we include everyone, and encourage parents to participate. We see the best results for children when more individuals pull together, putting their energies, skills and time into a child’s development and well-being.

‘We also briefed Lee on specialised one-to-one work we undertake with mothers who have had their children taken into care supporting them through the highly challenging circumstances and processes that involvement with social services invariably involves such as court proceedings.  Each case is different with many varied and complex aspects so we tailor our approach very much with the individual mother’s needs in mind.’

For full details and information on the range of services  provided by the Carmarthenshire Targeted Family Support Team please call 01554 745150.
