Brexit ad campaign: Only publicity campaign ever launched that doesn’t want publicity

Today the Government’s radio ad campaign for Brexit planning has begun. It has been blasted by Best for Britain as a ‘pathetic’ and the only ‘publicity campaign ever launched that doesn’t want publicity’.

Responding to the news, Best for Britain champion Jo Stevens MP said:

“This is the latest pathetic attempt to stoke public fear by raising the spectre of a no deal Brexit. No responsible government should ever countenance no deal – Parliament certainly won’t – so the government should stop pretending it will happen.

“With this campaign the government are throwing public money straight down the toilet spending £51 million on EU exit communications. How can we have a publicity campaign when the government will not release the publicity.

“The government website launched today, with much fanfare, looks like it was made by some children in their lunch break. All in all, this dreadful ad campaign is a metaphor for Brexit – terrible from start to finish.”
