Responding to the reports that the Ford engine plant in Bridgend will lose 1,000 jobs, Plaid Cymru AM for South Wales West Bethan Sayed said:
“The reports on the potential job losses at the Ford plant in Bridgend are devastating. If confirmed, it would mean the Ford plant in Bridgend could lose the majority of its workforce.
“Questions have been raised about the plant for some time, and I have previously met with Trade Union representatives to discuss the plant, regarding developing new products for the future.
“We must ensure that the workers of the plant are supported, and rights protected. I will do all I can to support people who work there, and I urge people to get in touch should they want my support.”
