LOST LOVE!
The day we parted, I felt bereft,
To lose a love, there’s nothing left!
I went away, my eyes full of tears,
Now fulfilled,one of my worst fears!
I knew this day was coming, I lived in dread,
Tossing and turning, sleepless nights in bed.
Fifty years later, I still feel the pain
From that time I nearly went insane.
Over the years I visited many a time,
Not to do so would seem a crime.
Always welcome, no need to forewarn,
Reunited again, to where I was born.
