Responding to the news that Welsh Government has confirmed a 3% increase in pay for NHS workers Plaid Cymru’s Deputy Leader, Sian Gwenllian MS said,

“Our health service is already under pressure, under resourced and under staffed, and the least we can do is ensure our workers do not remain under-paid.

“There is a real risk that our hard working NHS staff will be looking at the 4% offer in Scotland with a feeling of being let down by the Welsh Government. While we acknowledge the restraints from Tory austerity, Welsh Government should continue to push Westminster to respect our front line health and care staff with fair pay.”
