Ceredigion is gearing up to welcome top cyclists and spectators at the end of the month for British Cycling’s Lloyds National Road Cycling Championships and Beicio Cymru’s Road Cycling Championships.
The event will be held between June 26-29, starting in the picturesque seaside town of Aberaeron and ending in Aberystwyth.
Spectators are welcome to watch on any of the routes, however, they are asked to find a safe location that will not impede cyclists and staff during the races.
To ensure the success of the event, some roads will be closed around Aberaeron and in and around Aberystwyth. The full list of closures is available at https://www.ceredigion.gov.uk/resident/tourism-leisure/cycling-championships/

In Aberystwyth, spectators can visit the ‘Caru Ceredigion’ area on the Promenade on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, where there will be various stalls and exhibitions.
British Cycling is providing a large viewing screen on Aberystwyth Promenade which will live stream the Sunday event.
Businesses and home owners across the county are being encouraged to decorate their building to support the event.

As someone who’s cycled in Ceredigion before, I can say the roads are both scenic and tough — exactly what you’d want in a championship setting. It’s great to see national events tapping into the unique landscapes of rural Wales.
