Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales has continued with its mission of building stronger communities by donating £4500 to local charitable causes.
Over the previous three months, the company has donated £1,500 to Cure EB, Bowel Cancer UK and 21 Plus through its Community Fund. This initiative was designed to support charitable organisations and community groups in areas near to developments worked on by Barratt.
Richard Lawson, Sales Director at Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales, said: “At Barratt, we are proud to support the communities where we build — not just through our homes but by supporting the people and causes that hold those communities together.
“Our Community Fund gives us the opportunity to help where it’s needed most — whether that’s by supporting children and families through times of difficult diagnosis or funding much-needed moments of joy and connection. These three charities truly represent what it means to care for others.”A
A total of over £2.5m has been donated through the fund since 2022. The initiative aids charitable causes in the delivery of symptomatic relief, such as that provided by Cure EB, which undertakes research into treatments — and eventually a cure — for Epidermolysis Bullosa. Similarly, Bowel Cancer UK works to save lives through raising awareness and supporting life-saving research efforts.
Despite being national charities, both Cure EB and Bowel Cancer UK still play an important role in offering support to individuals and families across Welsh communities. They provide access to information, advocacy, and necessary care.
Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales considers it a priority to leave a positive legacy in the communities in which it operates. If you’re a member of a charity or organisation that might be eligble for applying to the community fund, visit: www.barrattdevelopments.co.uk/charity/barratt-and-dwh-community-fund.
