Many thought it would never happen, but Liam and Noel Gallagher are finally reunited, and Oasis have played on stage together again for the first time in 16 years. The first date on the reunion tour was in Cardiff, and it didn’t disappoint.

Although fans needed tickets to see the action on stage, the band did make use of live streaming to show the buildup to the concert and create a buzz around future performances.

Live Streaming Didn’t Exist When Oasis Last Played

The world has changed a lot since Oasis played what seemed to be their final concert back in 2009. The internet was in its infancy compared to now, and the live streaming craze hadn’t even begun. One of the best examples of how far things have come is the fact that now you can play live roulette with real world dealers, almost as if you were sitting in a casino yourself. Twists on the classic like Lightning Roulette and Spin & Win Roulette highlight how big the audience has become for these games.

Various legendary bands are turning to the technology to give more fans a taste of what it’s like to see them in action, with Black Sabbath recently selling live stream tickets to their Back to the Beginning farewell concert. This meant that they could reach audiences around the world, rather than those in attendance on the day.

Oasis Comeback Concert Had a Special Live Stream

It’s clear that Oasis have adapted to the online era as well, and the brothers used live streaming to promote their recent Cardiff return. Although the songs were exclusively for those in attendance, there was a special live stream to help fuel the hype and get more people excited about their return.

The BBC covered all the buildup to Oasis’ return to the stage at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with the whole thing available to BBC iPlayer users. It was hosted by Jason Mohammad and Tina Daheley, and showed various aspects of the concert, including thousands of fans flooding into the stadium. There were interviews with people on the ground, along with various special guest appearances. After the show, there were also live reactions and reviews from amazed fans as they walked out from the stunning performance.

Potential For Future Live Streamed Oasis Shows

Even though the concert itself wasn’t live streamed, there is potential for future shows to be made available to the masses online. Oasis want to keep this initial run of comeback shows for the fans who secured tickets to watch them in the stadiums. However, they may soon consider playing future shows that include live stream ticket sales in the same way that Black Sabbath did.

This would be a wise approach, as the current tour dates are only in the UK and Ireland. This makes it difficult for a lot of their global fans to attend. If Oasis do future concerts with live streams, people will be able to watch from all around the world.

According to those in attendance at the Cardiff reunion, Oasis were the best they’ve been since the 1990s. This is only going to fuel the hype around the band, and they may have to book future dates with live streams to appease all their fans.
