Wales Co-operative Centre launches employee ownership and business consortia project
The Wales Co-operative Centre has initiated a new project with the intention of establishing Wales as a leading area for employee owned co-operatives and business partnerships through consortia working.
The Business Succession and Consortia project is intended to address the deficiencies in succession planning in Wales and make it easier for employee groups to purchase the business which employs them. The project also intends to develop the capacity of SME’s and social enterprises by assisting them in forming co-operative consortia to improve the success of their businesses.
The project, which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Union, supports the Centre’s mission to develop sustainable businesses and strong inclusive communities by working co-operatively. It is intended to help sustain and create jobs and make existing businesses more successful.
To help businesses find out about the benefits of planned business succession, the Wales Co-operative Centre is holding a series of roadshows across Wales.
Find out about the Business Succession Roadshows on the Wales Co-operative website.
