Ladies….have you seen the nail wraps?
These wraps for nails can be found almost anywhere these days from our high street stores, nail bars, beauty salons and online shopping providers such as Ebay. You can even buy your own kit to do on yourself and friends.
There are many different suppliers such as Minx, Kooky and Trendy Nails.
The less complicated ‘stick on’ wraps are just as good for a quick fix these days and if like me your hands are everywhere and into everything such as house work, looking after teenagers or young children, cleaning the car, or perhaps you have pets to take care of and of course performing our regular jobs.
A quick fix is ideal especially for that special weekend break or night out. If you‘re lucky enough to get one!
If you feel that your nails are looking short, perhaps show the little white bits we see above the cuticle or generally don’t like nail varnish as it chips quite a lot, try the nail wraps!!!
Visit a salon for the more advanced ‘Minx’ or try to apply your own stick on wraps. They are so easy to fit and can last all week. No nasty chemicals! This product does not contain potentially toxic chemicals present in many nail varnishes and removers, such as Toluene, Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate and Acetone.
They do make these wraps in many different colours, shades patterns and some have a real glamorous look to them.
If using the stick on ‘quick fix’ wrap, to make them last longer I recommend a thin layer of clear nail varnish over the top.
- Place the correct sized nail wrap to the nail.
- Use the best nail file that you have.
- File away the wrap at the tip of the nail, filing the wrap over the top and away from the nail towards the finger tips rather than using the file from side to side as we would do when filing our nails.
- And that’s it!!!

Can YOU Help?… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading the West Wales Chronicle than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. And unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. The West Wales Chronicle’s independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as £1, you can support the Chronicle – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
