Scarlets can today confirm that Ospreys number 8 Morgan Allen will make the journey West next season as he links up with the Scarlets.

Allen, 25, is the latest new recruit to be announced as part of Scarlets’ 2015-16 squad with the region having confirmed the signing of up-and-coming Cross Keys No. 8 Jack Condy only last week.

The powerful ball carrier, who previously represented Pontypool RFC, has made 53 appearances for the Ospreys with his first regional appearance coming in 2011, against Scarlets’ opposition this weekend Cardiff Blues, and says he is looking forward to ‘a new chapter’ at Parc y Scarlets.

Scarlets Head Coach Wayne Pivac said: “We are pleased to confirm that Morgan will be joining us next season.

“He is a strong ball carrier and will add another dimension to our backrow giving us another option at 8. At only 25 years of age Morgan has plenty of rugby left in the tank and will no doubt learn and continue his development under the leadership and guidance of experienced guys in our squad like John (Barclay).”

Speaking exclusively to Scarlets’ Media Partner, South Wales Evening Post, Allen said: “The Scarlets are always there or thereabouts in the top half of the table in the Pro12 and it will be great if I can help them push on. I’m looking forward to going there, meeting the boys and hopefully having more chances of regular rugby.”

“It’s been a great five years, now my goal is to build on it with the Scarlets. I am only 25, so hopefully the best years of my career are in front of me. You never stop improving as a player and I am going to the Scarlets to get better and see what I can do. They are giving me a chance and I want to repay them.”
