Speaking ahead of today’s Assembly recall, leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Andrew RT Davies, said:

“Today’s recalling of the National Assembly offers members the chance to question the First Minister on what his government is doing to support the steel industry. We need the Welsh Government to take action on business rates; we need the Welsh Government to say what their offer would be to a future purchaser; and we also need to understand what the Welsh Government is doing, working alongside the UK Government, to secure the successful sale of the plant. One project which could be undertaken is the M4 relief road – this would create a huge demand to secure the long-term future of steel across wales. This is something I’ll be questioning the First Minister on later today.”
