Llandyfaelog is a tiny hamlet on the eastern side of the Tywi estuary, surrounded by green fields. Â It also happens to be the place picked by National Grid for a major new energy hub termed by Green Gen Cymru âa substation near Carmarthenâ
Two new lines of pylons, down the Tywi and Teifi valleys, will bring electricity to a new substation near the transmission lines to Swansea. Â A second substation and line of pylons will take power up to Carmarthen. Â Carmarthen BESS, no, not a loyal sheepdog, but a battery storage park will sit alongside. Â Sooner or later there will no doubt be a huge solar park
All on (literally) greenfield sites
Shame! Â Weep for Llandyfaelog
