Round 4 – Top Performers

Points: 28 Léo Berdeu (Lyon Olympique Universitaire)

Carries: 24 Bundee Aki (Connacht Rugby)

Metres: 117 Davit Niniashvili (Lyon Olympique Universitaire)

Defenders beaten: 14 Monty Ioane (Lyon Olympique Universitaire)

Lineouts won: 10 Vaea Fifita (Scarlets)

Tackles: 29 Jac Morgan (Ospreys)

Round 4 – Key Stats

  • Léo Berdeu (Lyon Olympique Universitaire) scored a round-high 28 points at the weekend, including ten from his two tries. He also assisted another try.
  • Bundee Aki (Connacht Rugby) made more carries than any other player in Round 4 (24). He also made a clean break and assisted a try.
  • Ruan Venter (Emirates Lions) made as many dominant collisions as any other player at the weekend (seven) and scored two tries.
  • Monty Ioane (Lyon Olympique Universitaire) made eight offloads – more than any other player in a Challenge Cup match on record – and beat 14 defenders in Round 4.
  • Jac Morgan (Ospreys) made the most dominant tackles (five) and won the most turnovers (four) in Round 4.
  • In total, 78 tries and 547 points were scored over all EPCR Challenge Cup Round 4 matches.
  • The quickest try came from Edinburgh Rugby’s Sam Skinner in their home game against Black Lion, one minute into the match.
