Book your next Welsh lesson on the same app as your cut and blow dry

A woman from Maesteg in South Wales was struggling to make time for Welsh lessons
alongside work and parenting has come up with a novel solution.

Helen out with her dog who is also learning Welsh.

Helen Jones started learning Welsh online during the pandemic but has found it hard to
make time for regular classes since things got back to normal and was feeling deflated.

One day whilst at the hairdressers she had a lightbulb moment – to use the same app that was designed for booking a root touch-up for doing an hour of Welsh speaking practice.

Jones went about contacting Welsh tutors and other learners on social media and not has
two tutors – one originally from North Wales and the other from Patagonia – available for
teaching 1:1 Welsh lessons on Zoom throughout the week at the click of a button.

“We have learners booking lessons from the UK and overseas, a surprising proportion are
from the USA, which is just brilliant! Using the app Fresha means people can book exactly
the kind of lesson they want at a time that suits them and change it if they need to. We cater from complete beginners to people who are fluent but just want a bit of practice.”

Introductory lessons start at just £10 for 20 mins and are available seven days a week on
the Fresha app if you search for ‘Siop Dwt’.
