Redberth Croft CIC Signs the Armed Forces Covenant

Silverstone Circuit played host to the UK’s premier Armed Forces transition event, the National Transition Event (NTE) 2025, on 24th February. The event welcomed a record-breaking number of Service Leavers, Veterans, Reservists, families, cadets, and industry leaders for a day of networking, collaboration, and celebration of Armed Forces engagement. Among the many milestones achieved on the day, Redberth Croft CIC proudly joined 13 other organisations in signing the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC), reaffirming its commitment to supporting those who serve or have served.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Pembrokeshire, Redberth Croft CIC provides horticultural therapy, agricultural training, and green skills development for individuals with additional learning needs (ALN), mental health challenges, and members of the Armed Forces community. Signing the AFC represents a significant step in Redberth Croft CIC’s ongoing mission to support veterans and service leavers through sustainable land-based projects, practical training, and wellbeing-focused initiatives such as its flagship ‘Hedging Your Vets’ program, which offers veterans hands-on experience in traditional hedge-laying and conservation.

A highlight of the day was an address from Veterans Minister Al Carns DSO OBE MC MP, who praised the ongoing efforts of organisations engaging with the Armed Forces community. He later joined Commander Christopher Chew RN, who signed the AFCs on behalf of Defence, in welcoming the new signatories. Redberth Croft CIC now stands alongside industry leaders and AFC Gold Award-holding employers, demonstrating a shared commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for veterans and service personnel.

Founder of Redberth Croft CIC, Daisy Coleman, commented on the organisation’s pledge:

Our work aligns with the Covenant’s principles—we actively support veterans in gaining new skills, finding purpose in the outdoors, and transitioning into sustainable employment. This commitment strengthens our ability to offer structured training, employment pathways, and community support for those who have served.”

Alongside these milestone commitments, attendees experienced Troops’ Track Day, industry networking sessions, and insightful presentations on Armed Forces recruitment and career transition. The event also reinforced Silverstone’s commitment to sustainability, mirroring Redberth Croft CIC’s dedication to environmentally responsible farming and conservation efforts.
