97-Year-Old Great-Grandma from Cardiff Takes on Folly Farm Fairground for Third Year Running

Proving that age is just a number, 97-year-old Phyllis Sharp from Cardiff has once again delighted her family—and onlookers—by enthusiastically joining in the fun at Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo in Pembrokeshire, insisting on riding the iconic fairground attractions during her stay at the on-site Simba Lodge.

Born in 1927, Phyllis is now enjoying her third consecutive visit to Folly Farm, making cherished memories during a special holiday spent with four generations of her family. With a sparkle in her eye and a fearless spirit, she’s enjoyed the chair-o-planes, the vintage carousel, the towering big wheel, and even the paragliders—proving that life’s thrills don’t end with age.

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” said Phyllis. “Spending this week with my family, especially my great-granddaughters Felicity, 4, and Verity, 2, is the highlight of my year. And I do love those rides!”

The multi-generational family holiday has become a beloved tradition, with each visit packed with laughter, excitement, and shared joy. Phyllis’s youthful energy and passion for adventure have become a heartwarming symbol of how cherished family time and a little daring spirit can span any age gap.
