Cafodd ddiffygion llinell reilffordd Calon Cymru eu codi’n y Senedd ddoe (dydd Mercher, 30 Ebrill), yn dilyn cwynion y mae Cefin Campbell, Aelod Plaid Cymru o’r Senedd dros Ganolbarth a Gorllewin Cymru, wedi’u derbyn gan etholwyr sy’n byw mewn cymunedau gwledig.

Ers mis Rhagfyr 2024, mae’r gwasanaeth trên olaf o Abertawe i Landrindod wedi bod yn gadael am 17:48, gan adael llawer o etholwyr gwledig yn methu â dychwelyd adref gyda’r nos. Heb unrhyw lwybrau amgen gyda’r nos na chysylltiadau digonol, dywedodd Mr Campbell bod cymunedau gwledig yn cael eu gadael i lawr.

Yn siarad yn y Siambr, dywedodd Mr Campbell AS:

“Abertawe yw ail ddinas fwyaf Cymru— mae’n ganolbwynt ar gyfer cyflogaeth, addysg, gofal iechyd a diwylliant.

“Ac eto, i lawer o bobl mewn cymunedau gwledig, nid yw’r amserlen hon yn darparu ar gyfer oriau gwaith safonol, digwyddiadau gyda’r nos, nac ymrwymiadau fel apwyntiadau meddygol neu gyfrifoldebau teuluol.

“Pa gamau mae Trafnidiaeth Cymru yn eu cymryd i asesu a gwella’r amserlen hon, i greu system drafnidiaeth sydd wir yn cysylltu Cymru gyfan?”

Mewn ymateb i’r cwestiwn, dywedodd Ken Skates AS, Ysgrifennydd y Cabinet dros Drafnidiaeth a Gogledd Cymru, y byddai’n sicrhau bod Trafnidiaeth Cymru’n ymwybodol o’r hyn godwyd gan Mr. Campbell ac y bydden nhw’n ystyried cynnal gwasanaeth hwyrach.

  1. It’s concerning to see late-night services on the Heart of Wales Line being cut, especially when so many rural communities depend on them for work, healthcare, and social connections. Restoring these services isn’t just about convenience—it’s about making sure people in smaller towns aren’t left isolated. Hopefully, decision makers recognise the wider impact and prioritise accessibility for all communities along the route.

  2. Restoring late trains on the Heart of Wales Line isn’t just about convenience—it’s about ensuring rural communities aren’t left behind when it comes to public transport. It’s good to see this issue getting the attention it deserves.

  3. With mental health services being more important than ever,it’s good to see local residents raising their voices for better access to essential services like Llinell Calon Cymru. Hopefully, this leads to real change.

  4. It’s encouraging to see pressure mounting for better evening services on the Heart of Wales Line. Rural communities depend on public transport not just for commuting, but also for social connection and access to services.
