| Over 5,500 visitors headed to Blackwood town centre for the popular Blackwood Beach Party on Saturday 18th July, enjoying a packed programme of family-friendly entertainment, live music, activities and attractions. |
| People of all ages turned out to enjoy the event, which transformed the town centre into a fun seaside-inspired destination. Visitors were able to browse a wide variety of stalls offering food, drink and local information, while families enjoyed an extensive programme of free activities throughout the day. Highlights included funfair rides, free donkey rides, free Punch and Judy shows, free craft workshops and the ever-popular giant beach attraction. Music lovers were also treated to performances across three dedicated music areas, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the town. A key objective of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s town centre events programme is to increase footfall and attract visitors into local towns, supporting businesses and encouraging repeat visits. The success of the Blackwood Beach Party demonstrates the continued value of these events in showcasing the county borough’s thriving town centres and diverse range of local businesses. So far this year, nine major events have attracted more than 38,000 visitors to town centres across the borough. Blackwood will next host the Blackwood Christmas Market on Saturday 28th November 2026, providing another opportunity to support local businesses and enjoy a festive day out. The next event in the calendar is the Caerphilly Cheese Festival, taking place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August 2026.
