Issued 12th October 2026 – The very first floating offshore wind farm for Wales is moving closer to reality, and the team behind it wants to hear from the people who live and work alongside it. Residents, businesses and community groups are invited to a drop-in event at Angle Village Hall on 22 October to get the latest on ‘Erebus by Blue Gem Wind’ and what it could mean for the area.

‘Erebus by Blue Gem Wind’ is a fully consented 100-megawatt Test and Demonstration project, located c.35km off the coast of Pembrokeshire and is the first floating offshore wind project in Wales. The project is set for construction by the end of the decade and represents a critical stepping stone in a pipeline of floating wind projects in the Celtic Sea. Once constructed, Erebus will provide enough green electricity to power up to 93,000 homes per year and will save approximately 150,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

The community engagement event will provide an opportunity for people to hear the latest updates on the project, meet the team behind the project, and learn more about potential local economic opportunities, including jobs, skills, supply-chain opportunities, and opportunities for local businesses.

Attendees will also be able to ask questions, share their views, and find out more about the next stages of the project.

“We’re keen to re-engage and make sure local people have the opportunity to understand the project, ask questions and hear directly from the team about what the project will mean for the community and the wider Welsh economy,” said Sean Evans, Head of Consenting, Erebus by Blue Gem Wind.

The event will take place on 22 October from 10am to 12pm at Angle Village Hall, Pembroke, SA71 5AS and is open to residents, businesses, community groups, and anyone interested in learning more about the project.
