Seaside Carnival Downgraded to a Picnic in The Park
This summer’s Seaside Carnival has been downgraded due to a lack of volunteers to run the event.
Instead there will be a ‘Picnic in the park’ event scheduled for Monday 27th August.
Sean Rees, Plaid Cymru member and Glanymor community activist has expressed his concern at the latest development.
Mr Rees said ” As a Glanymor resident, I share the disappointment of the whole community to hear that the carnival has been downgraded.”
“Seaside carnival is one of the most popular annual carnivals in Llanelli.”
“Many residents have contacted myself to express their worries for the future of the carnival for forthcoming years and I share their concerns.”
“One of the great aspects of the Seaside carnival is that it helps local businesses within the area and brings the whole community together with people of all ages participating in the occasion.”
